Sculptures
When I was designing signs for casinos I would often work out concepts in clay. Some times It was necessary to render the three dimesional elements that were part of the design in clay not only for the client but it aided in manufacturing.
This sign foam carving was done as a mold for a heat form vacuum process. I then took the clear plastic formed face and airbrushed it on the second surface.
This shows one of the “shells” in the sign.

The first two images in this gallery shows two small clay models I created for a sign for The Hilton in AC. They wanted a sign with a beach theme. This is what I came up with. We out sourced the actual sign foam carvings, but I did the airbrush painting on them. The clay models are about 8-10 inches, the sign foam carvings are about 2ft high.
The umbrellas were made from formed clear polycarbonate with vinyl and had lights in them so they lit up and added illumination to the turtles. The blue waves in front are edge lit.

These little guys were done for a sign concept for a project that unfortunately was never done.
